Powerful Communications is passionate about facilitating dialogue and creating strategy around space. Who is here? Who is not here? Why aren’t they here? How do we get folks here? How do we keep folks here? How do we share space?
We work to co-create a climate of Belonging in the rehearsal room. This is done by working with a production’s creative team to build and support Rehearsal Room Agreements from Day 1 of production, and by providing emergent DEI consultation throughout the rehearsal period.
On the first day of rehearsal, Powerful Communications holds a session that will combine The Culture of the Play with an Agreements Workshop. We work with the creative team to break down the components of “In-Group/Out Group” language and social dynamics in a text, and how to explore those dynamics, with community care, as a company. It is work that exists at the intersection of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Dramaturgy and Community Building.
